ASSIGNMENT 1 : JOURNAL

     The intended learning outcomes for this assignment are enable students to apply psychological theories and concepts to their personal lives and that of others. It also enables students to understand themselves better and their interactions with others in terms of psychology. It also aimed to increase awareness and sharpened sensitivity to human behaviours.

     In this assignment, we need to explain the event or experience by giving evidence to support why this illustrates a social psychological concept. This is quite interesting because we need to apply social psychology concept in our daily life. This implicate that there are many aspects in our life that can be explain by social psychology concepts but we were unaware about it. So, this assignment helps me to understand the particular concepts further when I apply it in my daily life. However, this assignment can only help students to certain extent because it does not require students to apply all the concepts in their life instead of 4 concepts.

ASSIGNMENT 2 : ARTICLE / ADVERTISEMENT ANALYSIS

     The intended learning outcomes for this assignment are enable student to define and explain psychological content such as concepts, facts, terms and theories and remember them.  It also applies psychological theories and concepts to their personal lives and that of others.

     In this assignment, we need to work in group of up to 4 members to look for articles/advertisement that they can relate to the concepts that they have learned in Chapter 6 – Attitude & Persuasion (Part 1), Chapter 6 – Attitude & Persuasion (Part 1), Chapter 7 - Stereotyping, Prejudice & Discrimination, Chapter 8 – Prosocial Behavior, and Chapter 9 – Aggression and produce a written report. This assignment does help me to understand the particular theories further since it is not just applies it in our life, instead of applies it from articles or newspapers. The assignment teaches me that even news also reveal social psychology concepts. I found that I could remember and understand the particular concepts further after I finish this assignment.  In the end, I am able to achieve all the learning outcomes that were intended for this project.

ASSIGNMENT 1 PART 1
We were required to produce a 5 paragraph 600-1000 word compare and contrast essay on two television genres, with proper referencing and citations. I decided to compare the following television genre, Rooftop Prince and Dream High

Reflection

           
      The intended learning outcomes for this assignment were quite obvious. It enables us to understand and interpret a television series clear than ever. It also demonstrates the ability to compare and contrast, analyze and synthesize information from two television series in an essay and explain them clearly and logically. It enables students to analyze as well as evaluate reading texts critically. Of course it demonstrates the ability to reflect on our work. I could say that I fail to achieve all of the learning outcomes. This is because I do my assignment without have a look on the intended learning outcome and I found that it is crucial to understand the learning outcomes afterwards because it is the aspects that we need to achieve in our assignment.

This assignment helps me to write a well-developed and well-organized essay with correct format and referencing techniques indirectly. I think that this assignment is necessary for all of the students since compare and contrast is the fundamental assignment that all student must master in order to proceed to other assignment that is more much complicated like argumentative assignment. Lastly, I have understand my weakness after my lecturer has provided some advice to me as well as state my weakness like I have written numerous of grammatical error in my essay. These kindly advice really help me out so that I have the room for further improvement.

ASSIGNMENT 1 PART 2
This assignment required students to form in a group of two people. We were required to produce an 800 to 1000 word essay on two different paintings exhibited in the galleries chosen for us. We were give the exhibition "Artemis Art" at Kuala Lumpur. We were to compare and contrast these paintings based on the elements and principles of design as well as the background of the artist.

Reflection

The intended learning outcomes for this assignment are enable students to analyze and evaluate reading texts critically. It also demonstrates the ability to analyze the potential meaning of the art work effectively. I am glad to say that I am able to achieve both of the learning outcomes as it is not difficult for me to analyze such a nice and beautiful art work.  

It helps us to demonstrate effectiveness in expression. This is because we need to write an assignment base solely on the given art work. So, we have to identify what is the idea that the author is going to express from his or her art work. It is crucial to understand the potential meaning of their art work otherwise it will be an irrespective to their distinctive art work. I had identified my strength and weakness when I undertake this assignment. I found that I am seasoned in copying the online information and translate it into my own version while my weakness is I am too dependent on the internet sources.

ASSIGNMENT 2
We were required to produce a 2500 to 3000 word research paper based on two trades and/or businesses of the same type in Klang. These businesses had to be more than 15 years old. In order to conduct this research, we had to derive some of our information based on primary sources as well as secondary sources. We decided to focus our research on Bak Kut Teh restaurant in Klang. 

Reflection

The intended learning outcome for this assignment are demonstrate the ability to analyze and synthesize information and compile them in an organized research report as well as to communicate the relevant ideas and analysis in clear, logical and appropriate academic English. It also demonstrates accuracy and fluency in the 4 language skills like listening, speaking, reading and writing as well. Unfortunately, I still cannot achieve the learning outcomes in this assignment since my English is weak and I do not strive to learn English regularly.

This assignment required us to do a survey in order to get the desired information. This is very meaningful because people can gain improvement by getting feedback from other. A successful business will also do a survey about their product when their product was in trial. This means that we will most probably do a survey in the future time so it is undeniable that this is a good practice for us so that we can gain some sort of experience that are useful in our future life. I had identified my strength and weakness through this assignment. My strength is speaking. I am the one who are responsible to ask people in order to get the desired information in my group but my weakness is I am too straight in speaking that I might be hurt other people indirectly in the process of conversation.

                                        MATHEMATICS 

                                                           

     Mathematics is the abstract study of topics encompassing quantity, structure,^]space, change, and other properties; it has no generally accepted definition.  Many of us wondered about the benefits of Mathematics during our childhood even adult days. Most of us were not able to comprehend the advantages of mathematics beyond the daily usage of calculating simple numbers. The importance of mathematics is two-fold, it is important in the advancement of science and two, it is important in our understanding of the workings of the universe. It seems that benefit one is the main benefit for me since benefit 2 does not relevant to my course and ambition at all. Advancement of science is about pattern and structure. It is more about logical analysis, deduction, calculation within these patterns and structures. When these patterns are found, it will be widely applied in different areas of science and technology, the mathematics of these patterns can be used to explain and control natural happenings and situations. It can also be used to calculate the amount of soil, sand, and so on. Since mathematics carry such important benefits to me, I decided to learn mathematics instead of design visualization and culture civilization in order to improve my knowledge in calculation that will be used in my future life.

Assignment 1

     For assignment 1, we need to form a group of 5 students and choose 9 objects found in our daily life. We were required to calculate total surface area and volume of the objects that we found. This assignment enables us to do some basic calculation of surface area and volume. It is crucial to do it well because if we can’t even do well and understand the fundamental of mathematics, how should we proceed to the higher level of mathematics? Fortunately, I was able to analyse and solve the problems that involve area and volume of 3D objects. After finish this assignment, we will automatically understand and apply the fundamental basic of mathematics principles, area and volume.

Assignment 2

     As for assignment 2, we also need to form group of 5 students as well. We can choose to form a new group or remain the same group and eventually I still remain in the same group as in assignment 1. We had to prepare a specific statistical study and gather analytical data on surveys and statistics to propose on any opening new restaurant business in our campus. The data can be prepared in any desired forms like pie chart, histogram and other diagrams. This assignment enables us to gather the data by using appropriate diagrams such as histogram, pie chart and etc. It also helps us to design surveying forms and ask people to fill it up to get the final answers.

Conclusion

     In conclusion, this subject helps me to understand the all the chapter that I had learn during the lesson. This subject is really worthy to learn because it really teaches me numerous of lesson that will help me in the future time. From both of the assignment, I learned to apply fundamental mathematic knowledge in built environment context lastly collect, organize, present and draw conclusion for simple statistical data.
